The mystery of the Assumption of Mary clearly shows how great the human body is. The Mother of God was so pure in thoughts, words, deeds, and because of that she became such a beautiful woman that God did not allow her body to decay (after Her death).
The mystery of taking Mary, body and soul to Heaven teaches us that not only what is immortal, but even what is only material, is called to share in the glory of God. Let us try to live the mystery of the Assumption of Mary every day. How to do it? It is best to entrust ourselves to God through Mary’s intercession every day, just as our spiritual teacher, St. Faustina, did with the words: O Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer You my soul, my body, my life and my death, and all that will follow it. I place everything in Your hands. O my Mother, cover my soul with Your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with Your power against all enemies… (D. 79). Then it is good to think about our holiness, and what to do so that our whole body would be merciful, pleasing to God, that our eyes, ears, hands and legs would be merciful. Since your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19), as St. Paul the Apostle said. Therefore, let us glorify God with our bodies, avoiding sin and caring for works of mercy.
